Welcome...and thank you for stopping into my little gallery on Esty.
My name is Kathy Hoynes and I live in the historic Catlin Court district of Glendale, Arizona, although I am a Chicago native, recently transplanted. (And yes, it really IS a dry heat!)
At the age of 3 I stopped eating my crayons and began drawing with them. Along the way I developed a fondness for fine line pen and ink drawings and a fascination with watercolours. I'd done human portraits for many years (still do!) and added greyhounds to my portfolio with the arrival of my first greyhound, Winston in 1997. Thanks to this amazing companion my artwork began to showcase the beauty of this noble breed. My commissioned works grace the walls of collections across the United States, Europe and Asia.
In addition to the artwork you find here, my original designs on clothing and merchandise can be found on my Greyhound Studies website (www.greyhoundstudies.com)and my illustrations can bee seen on the pages of CG Magazine and I was recently nominated for a Dog Writers Association of America award for my work in CG Magazine. In addition, I co-host an Internet program "Greyhounds Make Great Pets" which can be heard at www.greyhoundsmakegreatpets.org .
In my non-drawing moments, I enjoy reading, cooking and gardening with my greyhounds faithfully at my side. If you'd like to learn a bit more about me, please visit my blog at www.greyhoundstudies.blogspot.com
If you would like to commission a custom portrait of your pet, please email me at greyhoundstudies [!at] yahoo.com
